Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light

March 18, 2016
Have you reserved a Chicago Exotic rental car this Christmas break? Looking for a fun and festive way to celebrate the season while visiting the windy city? Then you may be interested in the Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago. This highly cultured exhibit demonstrates briefly how various cultures from around the globe celebrate this joyful time of year. Beginning in 1942 when the museum erected a lone tree in dedication to the Allies of World War One, this exhibit has expanded to include the forty-five foot Grand Tree with over fifty smaller trees signifying myriad holiday traditions. Ethnic communities from around Chicago volunteer to decorate these trees to represent their cultural customs. Step into the otherworldly cultural forest that spans the entire main level of the museum, with falling “snow” to enhance the experience.
